Labouré offers a collection of career services and academic support programs and resources at no additional cost to help students with their coursework and beyond.
Below, we'll introduce you to a few of the academic support services and career services we offer.
Academic Support Services
Tutoring
At Labouré, we offer a variety of tutoring services including tutors for nursing course content, dosage calculations (med-math), and writing support. We know our students are balancing work, school, and life, so tutoring options are flexible with day, evening, and weekends available. Online and in-person tutoring options are available for maximum flexibility.
Advanced sign-up is not required - students can drop in during any designated tutoring time. Just check the schedule! Schedules are sent to students at their Labouré email address throughout the semester, and posted by faculty in the course webpage on my.laboure.edu.
Student Success Workshops
Success in college is often influenced by lots of outside factors, such as how students manage their time, cope with stress, incorporate different study techniques, and prepare for exams.
At Labouré, we offer a rotating series of Student Success Workshops each semester, covering topics like time management, stress and coping, study skills, creating concept maps, and test-taking strategies.
Our workshops are available both in-person and online so you can choose the option that works best for you. Workshop schedules are posted each semester in the Student Success Center section of the Student tab on my.laboure.edu.
Peer Mentorship
Launched in January 2020, the Peer Mentorship program was created to provide additional support to our nursing students, and foster greater community and social connection.
The program is offered to all students. While it is not a program requirement, students are strongly encouraged to participate, as participants (mentees) are paired up with a mentor during their first semester, and receive invaluable guidance and support.
Our mentors are typically students in higher-level courses who have been successful in their coursework and have also demonstrated leadership potential.
Students entering their first professional nursing course will be contacted with details about the program prior to the start of the semester.
