Labouré College, Comedian Lenny Clarke, and KISS 108 Matty in the Morning radio hosts Billy Costa and Lisa Donovan will host the Massachusetts Care Awards to celebrate local nurses, healthcare workers, and medical first responders on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Lenny Clarke is thrilled to be hosting again this year saying, “Recognizing the nurses and healthcare workers who take care of us everyday is an honor. The Mass Care Awards is a wonderful night full of laughter and some tears as we highlight these incredible people for all they do.”

The Massachusetts Care Awards honor local nurses, healthcare professionals, and medical first responders in Massachusetts who exhibit extraordinary compassion. Each one of them exemplifies the mission of Labouré College through their deep commitment to providing care to all who need it.

These individuals did not seek recognition for themselves, but were nominated by their patients, co-workers, and families. Labouré College is proud to announce the following winners:

  • Donna Morrissey, Newton, American Red Cross
  • Detective Chris Dumont, EMT-P, Acushnet, Massachusetts State Police
  • Sean O’Leary, RTT, Foxboro, Tufts Medical Center
  • Catherine O’Connor, RN, MSN, ACRN, Milton, Northeastern and Health Innovations

“As we celebrate our 125th year, it is our hope for all Labouré students that they not only learn the skills necessary to care for others, but that they do so with compassion. All of the winners this year serve as incredible examples to the future nurses, healthcare workers, and first responders of Massachusetts,” said President Maureen Smith.

The event will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 beginning at 5:30 PM at Labouré College in Milton. The event will include a comedy performance by Lenny Clarke, great food and wine, and the presentation of the awards to each winner. The celebration is open to the general public and ticket information can be found at http://www.laboure.edu/massachusetts-care-award.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. All proceeds from the event will go to the Pay It Forward Scholarship fund, which assists high achieving nursing and healthcare students with significant financial need.
