As Labouré College celebrates its 125th year of healthcare education in Massachusetts, we are thrilled to announce that the Davis Educational Foundation has honored the College’s commitment to academic excellence with a $150,000 grant. The grant will support the College as it develops a distinguishing general education core curriculum that will be an integral part of all the College’s programs, particularly its baccalaureate programs.
Recognizing the strengths of the life sciences and medical community in the Greater Boston area, Labouré College is expanding opportunities for all students to have access to healthcare education as it develops new bachelor’s degree programs. The College already offers the RN-BSN degree, will soon offer a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Professional Studies, and plans to offer a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.“Buoyed by the $150,000 Davis Educational Foundation grant, it is the right time for Labouré to nurture and grow its baccalaureate culture. The College will dedicate itself to the advanced preparation of a baccalaureate curriculum that cultivates educated persons committed to their healthcare calling of providing service, justice, compassion, and care,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs, Al DeCiccio, PhD.
The growth of the baccalaureate programs at Labouré College affirms and supports its mission and unique position in healthcare education. “We are working to provide our graduates with new academic programs to achieve additional credentials, promotions, and leadership positions. It is our hope that students see education as a pathway to a rewarding career with no end in site,” said President Maureen Smith. The grant was received from the Davis Educational Foundation established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis's retirement as chairman of Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc.
Please join us in thanking the Davis Educational Foundation for their generous support and celebrating the bright future of Labouré College!
