Your first step to becoming a Labouré student. Labouré encourages qualified students of all ages and backgrounds interested in a career in healthcare to apply for acceptance. The first step is to submit your application packet.
As an applicant, you will be considered based on your academic credentials and your capacity to succeed in your intended program of study. No applicant shall be denied admission based on race, age, sex, religion, or disability. Since direct patient contact is involved in the clinical aspect of most programs, you must be able to perform the required duties without compromising the patient’s safety or welfare.
Your application packet
Every applicant to Labouré will submit the following basic required items:
- Completed application for admission, with non-refundable application fee
- Documentation of high school graduation, GED completion, or other state approved equivalency credential
- Official college transcript(s) from institutions attended (if applicable)
- Copy of any professional licenses, registrations, or certifications (if applicable)
- Program specific requirements or items requested by the Admissions Office (if applicable).

Technical Standards
Applicants must review and acknowledge the technical standards required for their program of interest during the application process. If you have questions about the clinical requirements of your program, please contact admissions to be connected with your program's dean or chairperson.

All applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Evidence of graduation from an accredited high school, completion of a GED with minimum standard score of 150 for each test, or completion of HiSET with a minimum standard score of 45

Applicants who submit credentials from non-US institutions must demonstrate English language proficiency unless they have completed at least two years of full-time study with English instruction in one of these countries: Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada (except Quebec), Dominica, Ghana, Grenada, Grand Cayman, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, New Zealand, Singapore, Trinidad/Tobago, United Kingdom. English proficiency may be documented by any of these methods:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) score of 46 or higher. Test scores must be from tests taken in the past 3 years.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.5 or higher. Test scores must be from tests taken in the past 3 years.
- TOEFL/IELTS is not required for applicants who have attended an international high school where English is the language of instruction.
- Earning a grade of C or higher in a 100 level, credit-bearing English Composition course at a regionally accredited US college or university.
Demonstrating English proficiency does not guarantee admission but is necessary for full admission. Applicants must submit official scores directly from the testing agency. The school code (CEEB) for Labouré College of Healthcare is 3287.
Eligibility for admission is not an entitlement for any applicant; as such, meeting the minimum general and program-specific admission requirements does not guarantee admission since the Admissions Committee considers a wide range of factors when reviewing applications.
Application process
The admissions process at Labouré is on a rolling basis. Rolling means that there are no final deadlines to apply; rather, applications are reviewed as they become complete and until a program is filled.
You can apply at any time for the next upcoming semester. If the semester you are applying for fills up, your application can be considered for the next available semester.
Labouré accepts students three semesters per year*, with start dates in Spring (January), Summer (May), and Fall (September).
- Some programs have limited start dates.
- Each semester has a Session I and Session II. Many programs accept students for both sessions, giving those programs 6 start dates per year.
Your admissions decision will arrive electronically and/or in the mail.
Appeals of admissions decisions may be made in writing to Jeremy_Shepard@laboure.edu. Please include your name, email address, telephone number, the program you applied to, and a brief description of your appeal. You will be contacted for an interview and to provide more information. We will endeavor to render a decision on your appeal within 30 days of your request.
